About Me
I am a photographer and an Environmental Science major/Spanish minor at New York University. Photography has been a part of me since I was fifteen, and it's taught me more about of the world and more about people than a lifetime of classroom education ever could. The view behind the camera is the most eye-opening.
For me, taking a picture serves a simple purpose. With every shutter release, I am trying to capture a moment in time that cannot be recreated. My goal is to show something about the world in a single instant, often through a person's action or visible emotion. It is easier to communicate what the dedication of a reservoir in Bolivia means to the people that it helps through one picture of a woman's smile than via an entire book of description.
My other interests are mainly the ones visible in my photography. I love sports when I can push myself to find my physical limits, both on my feet on a track and on skis in the mountains. I find a certain magic in traveling and discovering the world for myself, through its natural beauty and the beauty of people.
If you're interested in hiring me for a photo shoot or an event, please either fill out the "contact" page form, or send me an email at slk467@nyu.edu. My full contact information is available on my resume.
With the world as a canvas, and a camera as a brush, the options are unlimited.
